How we get the answers and hints
This page explains where the information on this site comes from and how we check it.
Daily answers
The official Daily Classic Quordle chooses its four answers from a fixed word list, using a set method based on the date. We run that same method on the same word list to work out each day's answers, including past days.
Before anything is published, our system compares its results with puzzles we have seen in the official game. If they do not match, nothing is published until the difference is fixed. Puzzles we have checked directly in the game are marked "Checked against the official game".
Puzzle numbers and dates
The puzzle number is the one shown in the official game. The first Daily Classic, on January 24, 2022, was puzzle #0.
A new Quordle starts at midnight in your own time zone, while this site changes its daily page at midnight Eastern Time. If you are far from the US East Coast, you may already have the next puzzle, or still be on the previous one. Use the archive and match the date or puzzle number shown in your game.
Hints
Most hints, such as the number of vowels, repeated letters and first or last letter, are worked out directly from each answer, so they are always consistent with it. Meaning hints are written and reviewed before they appear; when a board has no reviewed meaning hint, we leave it out rather than guess.
The solver
The solver uses Quordle's answer list to find the words that still fit the colors you enter, and the full list of accepted guesses when suggesting what to play. Suggestions favor guesses that split the remaining words into many small groups on each open board, with a bonus for guesses that could also be an answer. It is a helpful estimate, not a guaranteed best move.
Statistics
Statistics are counted over every published Daily Classic answer up to today. Each puzzle has four board answers, and each one is counted.
Community results and comments
Difficulty votes, shared results and comments come from players. Results and comments are reviewed before they appear publicly. Votes are counted once per browser, so they are a rough guide, not a scientific survey.
