How the word finder works

  • Green letters go in the box for their position. A word must have exactly that letter there. You can paste a pattern such as AP into the first box to fill several boxes at once.
  • Yellow letters go in the box for the position where they turned yellow. The word must contain the letter, but not in that spot.
  • Gray letters are left out completely. If a letter is green or yellow somewhere else on the same board, do not also list it as gray; the finder will point out the clash.
  • Also contains is for letters you know are in the word when you do not remember where they were yellow.

By default the finder searches only words that can be Quordle answers. Untick the box to search every accepted guess, which is handy when you want a probe word.
